Bialowieza forest

It is one of the last and largest remaining parts of the immense primeval forest which once spread across the European Plain. The forest is divided into 2 parts - Polish part and Belarusian part.

The forest is home to 800 European bisons (wisents), the continent's heaviest land animals. A security fence keeps the Belarusian and Polish bison herds physically and genetically separated.

Polish part is protected as a national park with the area of 100 square kilometers. Tours into a strictly protected can be managed on foot or by horse-drawn carriage. As a group several activities, as bird-watching with professional ornithologist, watching bisons in their natural environment or sledge or carriage ride with bonfires, can be arranged. You can also visit the popular village of  Białowieża, which lies in the middle of forest.
