Church of st. Jan Nepomucký in Žďár nad Sázavou

Pilgrimage church on the Green hill was built for the honour of the czech martyr and saint Jan Nepomucký. It is a masterpiece of prague built Giovanni Blasi Santini. He used the symbol of five-pointed star - according to the legend, a five-pointed star appeared above the dead body of the martyr - and everything has something to do with the number five - the ground plan has the shape of five-pointed star, the church has 5 portals, on the altar there are 5 stars and 5 angels. Santini seized the idea and his brilliant technique gave the church absolutely unique style, which is only really hard to find somewhere else.
